PRO-LIFE VOTERS MUST WORK
OVERTIME TO STOP PRO-ABORTION BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA
Washington, DC
--
A spokeswoman for a
leading pro-life group says pro-life advocates need to begin work today
to stop likely Democratic nominee Barack Obama. Karen Cross, the
political director for National Right to Life, says Obama would advocate
abortion at every turn if elected president. "Senator Barack Obama has a
strong position and voting record in favor of abortion on demand," Cross
told LifeNews.com. "He strongly supports the appointment of only U.S.
Supreme Court Justices who favor Roe v. Wade." That means Obama would
ensure legalized abortion throughout the entirety of pregnancy will
remain legal in the U.S. for another 35 years, Cross says. "If Senator
Barack Obama becomes president of the United States, hundreds of
thousands more unborn children will likely die each year," Cross warns.

ABORTION CENTER IN
ILLINOIS HIT WITH SECOND BOTCHED ABORTION LAWSUIT IN WEEKS
Granite City, IL -- The Hope Clinic for Women
located in the Illinois side of border of St. Louis, is the subject of
the second botched abortion lawsuit in six months. In this new case, a
young woman says the abortion center failed to do a complete abortion
and left part of her unborn child inside of her -- causing her
infertility. Antoinette Blanton, who is 20, filed a $50,000 against the
abortion center saying the failed March 2006 abortion caused her to be
sterile. According to the lawsuit, abortion practitioner Allen S.
Palmer, of Bridgeton, failed to remove the entire unborn child during
the abortion procedure. The Granite City Press newspaper indicates
attorney Christian Montroy of the Rex Carr Law Firm in East St. Louis
filed the suit for Blanton in Third Circuit Court and that the case has
been assigned to Circuit Judge Andy Matoesian. The paper indicates a
deposition was held May 16 but no other court dates for hearings have
been set. Local pro-life advocate Angela Michael told LifeNews.com she's
not surprised by the lawsuit because legalizing abortion didn't make the
abortion procedure any safer for women. "Back-alley abortions were
supposed to be a 'thing of the past,'" after abortion became legal and
multi-million dollar abortion centers like Hope were opened. "When are
the Illinois Board of Health and legislators going to wake up and public
outrage going to hold the butchers inside Hope abortion Clinic
accountable?" she asked.

KANSAS GRAND JURY NOT
GETTING ABORTION RECORDS DESPITE HIGH COURT RULING
Wichita,
KS -- A Kansas grand jury that is investigating late-term abortion
practitioner George Tiller has yet to receive any of the abortion
records it needs to determine whether he broke state abortion law.
That's despite a Kansas Supreme Court ruling from nearly one month ago
that the subpoenas it issued for the records should be honored. Fewer
than 20 abortion records have been turned over from Tiller's abortion
center to the independent attorney assisting the grand jury, according
to an AP report, even though the grand jury wants to look at as many as
2,000 from the past five years.

PRO-LIFE CATHOLIC GROUP
URGES QUESTIONING CANDIDATES ON REALITY OF ABORTION
Opinion
--
With the primaries
now behind us, the general election season is underway. As we have done
in the past, and as we do all year long, Priests for Life will again be
very vocal in the coming months about the responsibilities we all have
“to participate in building the culture of life” (US Bishops, Living the
Gospel of Life, n.34). The voters will hear from us, the candidates will
hear from us, and the message will be clear: “The direct and intentional
destruction of innocent human life from the moment of conception until
natural death is always wrong and is not just one issue among many. It
must always be opposed” (US Bishops, Forming Consciences for Faithful
Citizenship, n.28).
LifeNews.com Note: The following is a statement from Priests for Life, a
leading pro-life Catholic group that works to educate pro-life advocates
on issues like abortion. Led by Father Frank Pavone, Priests for Life
has been active in urging pro-life voters to make abortion their number
one priority.
LOUISIANA SENATE APPROVES
BAN ON TAXPAYER FUNDING OF HUMAN CLONING
Baton Rouge, LA -- The Louisiana Senate, on Tuesday, voted
unanimously to approve legislation that bans state taxpayer funding of
human cloning. The bill prohibits using any state funds on either
reproductive or research-based human cloning and the Senate vote follows
a 90-9 vote in the House in April. The Senate voted 35-0 for Rep.
Cameron Henry's legislation and now the House must sign off on minor
changes the Senate made to it. Once that happens, the measure will head
to pro-life Gov. Bobby Jindal, who has already indicated he will sign it
into law. Dr. W. "Al" Krotoski, the president of the pro-life coalition
group Hippocratic Resource, told LifeNews.com he's delighted by the
vote. "After four long years of battling pro-cloning forces to a draw in
the Louisiana legislature, we will now be protected from having our
taxes used to manufacture human life," he said.
