Dear California ProLife Friend,
2016 is already a shocking year, proving to be VERY interesting and providing amazing opportunities.
Just in January the POLITICO magazine interviewed Nancy Pelosi, the leader of Congressional Democrats, and their most outspoken champion of unlimited-abortion. She was asked if she had seen the videos exposing Planned Parenthood’s practice of selling the organs of babies they had aborted.
“Well,” those videos “are doctored,” she said. But then went on to say she had, “never believed in abortion on demand.” That she doesn’t believe abortion should be “used as a form of birth-control.” Wow!
The facts about what happens to the baby in an abortion are clearly getting too uncomfortable.
These statements were too much for the abortion lobby. The National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) had to rebuke their strongest supporter, who was now, amazingly, ‘backing away.’
NARAL praised her past support of all abortions at all times, but they had to rebuke her. ’She should not make such statements. She should not use such language.’
“Time and time again, Leader Pelosi has stood up for women and our reproductive rights. But at a moment when so much is at stake, her comments are particularly disappointing and ill-advised.”
Let me tell you WHY Ms. Pelosi is backing away from the ugly horror of abortion. The facts are getting out. People like you and me have insisted – even if we weren’t going ‘to win’ we would still describe that helpless child. We would still speak of their life.
The Obama years have been a challenge. It’s been as bad as, or worse than, when Bill and Hillary Clinton were in the White House.
In his last year this President will continue to attack unborn babies and we can ward off some of those attacks because we have a pro-life Republican Congress. But I want to tell you the good news. We are not just ‘resisting’ we are asserting.
We have never been stuck in a thoroughly defensive position. We know we must try to keep moving forward. That’s because we know it’s not about a score. It’s about babies being ripped to pieces.
Do you remember the huge fight over partial-birth abortion? We were able to get the bill to the Clinton Oval Office only to see it vetoed. We did not give up. We passed it again to keep the focus on the baby.
But we did something else that concentrated the focus here in California. We introduced a ban on partial-birth abortion and its funding here in our state legislature. It did not pass. But we still spoke of the child. All state affiliates of National Right to Life focused on this evil. We know the discussion must be about that life.
Needless to say, Bill and Hillary were not pleased.
Now we have a bill in the Congress to ban dismemberment abortions. We know that if the bill were sent to President Obama’s desk, it too would be vetoed. History is repeating itself and we have learned its lessons.
Until we have a pro-life president, the productive battleground to ban dismemberment abortion is through forcing the issue to be discussed anyway.
In California, we know Jerry Brown would also veto any such bill, and that our radical legislature will not want to have it come anywhere near his desk. As in the nation’s capitol, we will still bring it up in your state capitol. Why? Simply because the practice of ‘dismemberment abortion’ needs to be examined. Our goal: advance awareness of the babies themselves.
When the focus is on the baby, the baby wins.
Dismemberment abortion is a horrible way to die. The pain is excruciating. I have seen it on film. I saw the baby’s arms torn from her body. I saw her legs ripped off her torso with sharpened plyers. I saw her torso crushed and yanked from her mother’s body.
I saw her head crushed into pieces by the powerful forceps because it was too large to be pulled out intact. Seeing the “procedure” is painfully excruciating. It is too difficult to describe the details. This should never be tolerated in Western Civilization. It should never be tolerated in any Civilization – past or present.
We often think we have come a long way, advanced in social policies and advanced in individual rights.
But what would people one hundred years ago, or two hundred years ago, or three hundred years ago think of what we do today to babies in their mothers’ wombs?
Dismembering innocent babies would have been unimaginable to our ancestors. It is my commitment that it will be unimaginable to our posterity.
The heirs to our culture will be appalled by what is done in the name of choice or reproductive freedom. No one has a right to brutally dismember unborn children.
Let us do in California on dismemberment abortion what we did on partial-birth abortion. Let us raise the volume in the same responsible way we did on partial-birth abortion. We did district-specific mailings, we placed ads, did targeted-radio, we called individuals whom we know care and motivated them to make their voice heard.
We want to do this again on dismemberment abortion. And we can if you help with your Membership Renewal. We can keep the focus on the baby.
Please renew your very important Membership in California ProLife Council. If you and our fellow members don’t do these tasks, who will?
Your Membership is an activism to be proud of.

P.S. Please tell your family and friends you are Members. The larger we are the more effective we can be. Tell them that they should be too.
I have just gotten off a series of conference calls for several important educational and organizational projects we are doing in California. You will be hearing a lot more about each. The message of Life is NOT dead in California.
And that is thanks to you!
Thank you for standing with us in 2016!
